Initial training and vocational training

As part of the lifelong training initiative, a distinction is made between initial training and vocational training.

Initial training: Concerns students who have not broken off their studies for more than two years.

Vocational training: concerns anyone who is no longer enrolled in an academic institution but wishes to acquire new skills or return to education to obtain a degree, and employers seeking to offer their employees a professional qualification.

Most of the courses offered by the higher education institutions are available as either initial or vocational training.
