The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, with the support of the Department of Economy and Finance, the Ministry for Industry and Digital Economy, and the Groupe Caisse des Dépôts, launched the following national measures in September 2014:
The creation of the first student-entrepreneur national status in the world, devised for:
- students working on professional projects during their studies
- graduates, in particular those under 28, who can benefit from the student status while working on their project.
The foundation of 30 student centers (known as PEPITEs) that focus on innovation, knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship for student from any higher education institutions. Their mission is to create awareness, coordinate entrepreneurial training programs and support the projects of students and young graduates.
The establishment of the PEPITE national prize, which is awarded 150 regional semi-finalists and 53 regional finalists.
